We’re proud to announce that Sparebank 1 Sør-Norge has chosen Convier to strengthen its work against money laundering and ensure effective compliance with sanctions regulations. Sparebank 1 Sør-Norge is one of Norway’s largest regional banks, serving customers across Agder, Rogaland, and Telemark. As part of the SpareBank 1 Alliance, the bank plays a key role in Norway’s financial landscape - combining local presence with strong national reach.
The partnership marks an important milestone for Convier and confirms that Norwegian banks are increasingly turning to locally built technology to handle complex AML and compliance operations.
“Our goal has always been to make AML operations more intelligent - enabling banks to see risks and relationships in context rather than as isolated events,” says Andreas Engstrand, CEO of Convier. “We’re thrilled to work with Sparebank 1 Sør-Norge and help them take the next step toward a more insight-driven compliance operation.”
Inglen Haugland, Head of AML System and Analysis at Sparebank 1 Sør-Norge, highlighted the value of the collaboration in an interview with Shifter:
“Convier will be able to help us get a somewhat simpler and faster way to map all the information we need and compile the information in an efficient way.”
Convier provides a platform that visualizes and connects transactional relationships between customers and counterparties, helping banks detect suspicious patterns and make faster, more informed decisions. The system is built around three core workflows:
Exploration, Analysis, and Reporting - designed to support investigators throughout the entire AML process.
“What we see now is that financial institutions want solutions that can adapt to their operations — not the other way around,” adds Engstrand. “That’s exactly what Convier was built for.”
With several banks already onboard and more in the pipeline, Convier continues to expand its footprint across the Nordic financial sector - offering compliance teams a modern, intuitive, and data-driven way to understand financial crime risk.
