Convier launches SAR filing: from investigation to submission in one workflow

Convier launches MF reporting to Norway’s FIU, bringing investigation, report preparation and submission into one AML workflow

Since 31 May 2026, every suspicious activity report in Norway must be submitted as a structured network of data. With Convier, you can send it directly from your existing systems.

What the new format requires

Økokrim - the Norwegian Financial Intelligence Unit - has launched a new reporting solution for reports of suspicious activity (MF reports) under the Anti-Money Laundering Act. All MF reports must now be submitted through it.

The new form requires structured data. More fields are mandatory, and every person, account and transaction must be registered as a separate object, linked to the others with its own metadata.

Take one suspicious customer sending one transaction to one suspicious counterparty. That report needs six objects: the customer, the customer’s account, the transaction, the counterparty’s account, the counterparty and the suspicious activity. Each one must be registered and connected.

That is one transaction. Most cases involve many more.

The cost of entering it by hand

Registering every object and relationship manually has three consequences:

  • More time per report. Analysts re-enter information that already exists in the source systems.

  • More room for error. Every account number, amount and relationship typed by hand is a chance for a mistake.

  • It doesn’t scale. Workload grows with every additional transaction, counterparty and report.

Direct from your systems to the FIU

Convier has built an integration with FIU’s new reporting solution. Institutions can submit MF reports with fully structured data straight from their existing systems, with no manual entry.

Source: Customer data, transactions and case information are retrieved from the systems you already use: CRM, the transaction system and case management.

Structure: Convier converts the data into the FIU's format, as a network of objects and relationships, together with the report text written by the analyst.

Submit and archive: The analyst submits the report from Convier. The report and its attachments are archived with a full audit trail.

The analyst still assesses the case and writes the grounds for suspicion. Convier handles the registration.

The new reporting format gives the FIU better data. With Convier, providing that data doesn’t cost your analysts more time.
